The Ground for Financial Astrology
The principle
of harmony is cosmic law
Astrology
has a long history, as far back as the 23rd century B.C. Observations of eclipse has been documented on clay tablets.
The development of mathematics can b attributed to the pioneering astronomers Priests.
The mathematics developed for astronomy by the Babylonians was established on a sexagesimal system which is still in
use today with 60 second and 60minutes for time and for degrees in astronomy.
The
observation of the solar and lunar cycles were the beginning of a calendar and the cyclic nature of life, the beginning of
the understanding the rhematic nature of life. The insight that astrology gives to the market is for one that the market cannot
be reduced to a mathematical formula, although the peril of our age is the attempt at this reduction.
The
word cycle is derived from the Greek word “kuklos” meaning circle. The study of planetary cycles can be a benefit
of timing in the market. :
Planets
are in orbit around the sun and their position at any time is measured by their (tropical) zodiacal position on the ecliptic
(the plane of our solar system). The zodiac is measured in terms of twelve signs, each with 30° (one-twelfth of 360°), and
each degree can be precisely divided into 60' (minutes) to give very exact positions within a zodiac sign at any time. Thus, the position of a planet at any particular time can be calculated . When a planet changes
sign (an ingress), from 29°59'; of one sign to 0°00' of the next, there is a marked change of theme and atmosphere in the
collective psyche.
Each planet has a different vibrational frequency
or sidereal radiation having a particular distinguishable quality and characteristic,
orbital speed, size and axial rotation and magnetic field, hence different affects. Just like a musical tone or pitch
has a definite frequency and each colour has a definite electromagnetic frequency. Sidereal radiation is tremendously penetrating
and secondly, subject to decisive change in intensity in an irregular wave like patterns. The variations in the intensity
of the electromagnetic field surrounding the earth are believed to be due to the geometrical configurations of the planets
and the movement of the earth around the sun.
The planetary frequencies converge upon the
earth from different angles, and these angles determine the manner in which the frequency combine into harmony or discord
. These vibrational frequencies are qualities central to astrology. The term “ harmonics” is preferable, though no more explicit. There is nothing scientific
in speaking about such influences. Astrologers observe certain planetary harmonies in the planetary cycles and how they coincide
with events. Harmonic accord or discord are recognized in astrology by looking at the angular relationship between any two
planets these angles are called aspects. Specific geometric angles create harmonious or challenging aspects.. Outside
these specific angles, planets are dissonant in their relationship instead of resonance
The characteristic effects of a planetary
configuration or angle may vary. These limits are known as orbs of influence and are usually of the following order of magnitude:
Conjunction 10, Sextile 6 degree Square 8 degrees Trines 8 degrees and Oppositions 10 degrees. The most significant aspects
are conjunctions (0°), where two planets lie in the same location in the zodiac cycle, and oppositions (180°) where they are
opposite one another The potency of an aspect rises slowly as the planet enters the orb of influence and accelerates rapidly
during its approach (applying) to exactitude. It then recedes the like manner
as the planets move apart. The potency of the aspect at various points within orb may be represented by a symmetrical sine
curve, which shows that an aspect which is one third of its distance to exact has only one-forth of its ultimate value. At
the half way mark, it reaches half of its potential, and two-thirds of exactitude it exerts three – fourth of its total
potential. Planets resonate strongest when within one degree of orb, but, in the case of conjunctions, squares and
oppositions, effects can be detectable when planets are even five degrees out of aspect. Hints as to the atmosphere which
can arise during an aspect can begin as soon as the involved planets enter the sign(s) where the aspect is to take place.
Thus each planet has a cycle of relationship
with the zodiac signs (called sidereal cycles), and a number of cycles of co-relationship with the other moving planets (synodic
cycles). To these there are different periodicities. No planet, nor its
vibrational frequency, exists and works in isolation. Planetary energies have a multiplicity of ways of interconnecting, creating
an ever-changing, never exactly repeated period of time..
Jupiter the largest planet makes a complete revolution around the sun in
11.86 years. Saturn requires 29.46 years to complete its revolution. The time required for Jupiter and Saturn to complete
360 degrees in relation to one another is 20 years and is known as their syndical period. The conjunction of Saturn and Jupiter
is called a Mutation. It is this Mutation cycle that is important to forecasting the financial cycle as it is the fundamental
indicator of the financial markets psychology. Conjunctions of Jupiter and Saturn have
been constantly observed to stimulate the most powerful influences of any of
the planets . Jupiter and Saturn are the largest planets in the solar System , due to their great size and slow motion they
exercise the predominating influence for prolonged periods of time and therefore establish an overall standard of disturbed
or quiet conditions.
Because of the various speeds planet travel
at there appears from a geocentric position that the planets are moving backwards
or in a retrograde motion. They
do not actually move backwards - it is merely a perspective as seen from the moving Earth (similar to a fast train overtaking
a slow train and making it appear to move backwards). This means that for many (but not all) aspects and ingresses, such aspects
or ingresses can be spread out over a period, repeating them. This is fully visible in the astrological tables or ephemeris.
In the timelines, since these forth-back-forth passes can occur within the space of one year, they will often be shown as
one aspect or ingress, or occasionally two if the aspect or ingress has taken place over two or more years. This several-step
process represents, in the shorter-term, a release of the past, a key transition-point and then an adoption of the future.
Change is often a process, not a clear-cut single event.
Understanding markets in
the light of interplanetary cycles of aspects radically shifts the way we see the market.
By identifying the major turns in the market, particularly times of major astrological
configurations involving the Mutation cycle we gain an insight into the major turning-points of the financial markets.
Astrocycles
financial astrology predicts
by looking at aspects and ingresses of planets, and by gaining an understanding of what these imply, through observation of
what has actually occurred in the past, plus astrological inference. Astrological theory, as it has evolved over the millennia,
gives some insight into what might be expected to develop at any time of history, through examining the component parts of
the astrological situation at the time. These components are: 1. the positions of the planets in the signs; 2. the energy-characteristics
of any planets interacting with each other in aspect; 3. the qualities of the aspect(s) concerned and, 4. the stage on the
unfolding cycle of aspects between those planets (particularly whether the cycles are waxing or waning).
